Khaled Tarek El-Nemr
Name: Khaled Tarek El-Nemr
Designation: Property & Casualty Chief Underwriter for a leading Insurer in Egypt
Qualifications: ACII

“Attaining the ACII was not simply about acquiring knowledge or placing another credential in a frame. It was about finding solid ground. In a world of constant change, the insurance profession demands more than technical familiarity, it requires the confidence to lead through uncertainty.” These are the profound words of Advanced Diploma holder, Khaled Tarek El-Nemr, a Property & Casualty Chief Underwriter for a leading Insurer in Egypt.
Khaled believes that the ACII qualification provided a reliable step between where he stood and where he needed to go, as both a leader and a professional. He explains: “The ACII gave me a framework that moves with me, enabling me to manage the unexpected, communicate with authority, and make sound decisions precisely when clarity matters most. I can step forward in leadership, in knowledge, and in the lifelong journey of managing uncertainty with confidence.”
He began his professional development journey in 2012, attaining the CII Certificate, progressing to the ACII and Chartered Insurer titles in 2018, pointing out that his studies were before the AI age, demanding “reading, reasoning, and retaining knowledge the hard way. But that difficulty was, in retrospect, the greatest gift,” he explains. “I now engage with AI tools not as a dependency, but as a confident, informed explorer. I know what I am looking at because I already understand what lies beneath it.”
A robust advocate of CII qualifications, he emphasises:” knowledge is the responsibility we owe each other, so I am actively encouraging my colleagues, team, and every junior underwriter I work with to pursue them. In our profession, knowledge is not optional. Without it, adaptation becomes difficult, growth slows down, and the people around us cannot move forward at the pace the industry demands. The ACII does not just teach insurance; it feeds curiosity and gives it direction.”
He continues: “As someone representing the Egyptian market, I also want to stress that if we continue this path of learning and leadership, we will not just survive in this industry, we will positively succeed and flourish in it. The CII qualification opened a door. The knowledge behind it keeps it open.”
