UK institutes

When you become a member of the CII in the UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, you also become a member of a local institute, usually close to where you live or work.

This network of 56 local hubs is run by dedicated groups of sector professionals, providing you with a programme of services, typically including:

  • Technical, market and regulatory CPD events
  • Soft skills and business-related training
  • Social and networking activities
  • Student career guidance and mentoring
  • Local news and market information

These events can count towards your CPD requirements, if considered relevant to your professional development needs.

It's one thing to be a member of your local institute, but think how much more rewarding it could be to have a hand in running it, find out more by reading 'Help shape your local institute' on the top right of the page.

Global institutes

Many of our members outside the UK are also members of an insurance institute affiliated or associated to the CII. The relationship between these bodies is typically based on mutual recognition of each others' qualifications, wherever possible, thereby avoiding duplication of learning.  The aim is to work collaboratively for the benefit of our members.
