- Treaty vs Facultative – comparison
- Features and operation of proportional treaties
- Quota share and surplus treaties
- How they operate and examples (placement and claims)
- Features and operation of non-proportional treaties
- Risk and catastrophe excess of loss/stop loss treaties
- How they operate and examples (placement and claims)
- Features and operation of facultative reinsurance
- Proportional and non-proportional facultative
- How they operate and examples (placement and claims)
- Characteristics and uses of reinsurances
- Uses of proportional and non-proportional reinsurances
Workshop format
This workshop is delivered face to face, over a full day at the CII Offices at Fenchurch Street. New dates coming soon, 09:00-16:30 (UK).
It will contain a range of visual and interactive training techniques to help the participants with their understanding of reinsurance. The trainer will use real and practical examples taken from a broad spectrum of the market.
This is an introductory course, and would suit those new to reinsurance, or those looking for a refresher, leading on to the intermediate course.

On completion of this course, you will receive a certificate of attendance from the Chartered Insurance Institute.
