Hajjat Aphwa Kawaase Sebyala BSc ACII DBM MMS FIIU Chartered Insurer
Goodwill ambassador for women in insurance in Africa
Hajjat Aphwa Kawaase Sebyala has spent 38 years in the insurance profession holding a number of senior roles including Deputy Board Chair of the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda, Hon Secretary of the Insurance Institute of Uganda, and Hon Secretary of the Uganda Insurers Association.
She holds a Bachelor of Sciences (BSC) Degree from the Makerere University, Kampala, a Diploma in Business Management (DBM) from the Institute of Public Administration, a First Class Masters in Management Studies Degree (MMS) from Uganda Management Institute. She is also the founding Director of Energizing Solutions Ltd, a consultancy firm offering a range if insurance solutions.
She was the first woman to enter the Africa Insurance Organisation Hall Of Fame, and was the founding Chairperson of Women in Insurance in Uganda. She was part of the formulation team for the Africa Union Agenda 2063 and the AU Gender policy, and was a recipient of a Presidential Medal in Uganda in 2016.
